Flourish Data Viz

Jordan has used flourish throughout her career in multiple fashions to track the spread of COVID-19, including with data runs, interactive stacked graphs and line graphing, among other visualizations.

Excel and Google Sheets

Creating data visualizations has required Jordan to compile and analyze large datasets, so she has used Google Sheets and Excel in creating polished databases for her work with skills from her business classes and data analysis classes at OU.

Social Media analysis

Jordan has learned how to scrape social media feeds for story ideas - locating community groups, advertising anonymous tip forms and tracking down leads for stories her audience is interested in. She’s also helped to revamp her student outlet’s engagement desk, overseeing an editor in story treatments for social media while The Daily’s newsletter achieved a reach of over 21,000 under her tenure as editor-in-chief.

Photography

Jordan has been a photographer since her freshman year of college and served as assistant visual editor fr her student outlet in fall 2018. She photographed concerts, breaking news events, and the OU football team — including a trip to the Orange Bowl in December 2018. She takes photos when possible for The Tribune, but mostly hones her photography skills when hiking.

Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom

In her experience as a photographer, Jordan has also produced graphics and edited galleries using Adobe programs.
